01The agreement
These Terms of Use are a contract between you and WebCastle, Kochi, Kerala, India (“we”, “us”), for the use of Karmic at this website and any related apps. By creating an account, ticking the box at sign-up, pressing “I agree” after signing in with Google or Apple, or simply using the service, you accept them together with the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Karmic.
02Eligibility and one account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- One person, one account. Duplicate or shared accounts, and accounts created to get around a limit or suspension, may be removed without notice along with any karma they gave.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for everything done from your account.
- You may only claim a Soul that is genuinely about you, or that you are authorised to represent. Claiming someone else’s Soul is impersonation.
03What Karmic lets you do
Give Good Karma or Bad Karma to any Soul — a person, business, product, brand, place or vehicle — with a short public note; create a Soul for something that doesn’t have one yet; claim the Soul that is about you; fill in attributes so that karma given to the things you are connected to can reach you; import contacts and invite friends; and browse every public Soul. Daily and weekly limits, and the rarity of Super Karma, are part of the design and may change.
04Accurate and fair karma
Karma is only worth something if it is honest. When you give karma you promise that:
- It happened. Karma describes a real interaction or experience of yours, or a fact you have good reason to believe.
- It is fair and specific. Bad karma states what happened, not who someone is. No insults, slurs, threats, or sexual content.
- It is not harassment. Do not target a person repeatedly, coordinate with others to pile on, or use karma to intimidate, stalk or doxx. Do not post private details — addresses, phone numbers, health, finances, relationships — about anyone.
- It is not defamation. Do not state as fact something you know or should know is false and damaging.
- It is not spam or a ring. No bought, traded, automated or reciprocal karma; no giving karma to yourself through other accounts; no karma for anything you have not actually dealt with.
- It is not about a child or anyone you know to be under 18.
- It is lawful where you are and where the recipient is.
05Your notes are public, and yours
Every karma note — good or bad — is published on the recipient’s Soul with your display name, permanently and on the record. You are the author and you are responsible for it, including under defamation, harassment and data-protection law. Karmic is a platform for what its users say; we do not endorse notes and we do not verify them before publication.
By posting you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute the note as part of the service, and to use it in anonymised form to improve the rules and AI that keep Karmic honest. You keep any copyright you have.
06Moderation, reversal and trust
We use automated rules, AI abuse detection and human moderators. We may, at our discretion and without prior notice: reverse karma events; remove or edit notes; freeze a Soul so it can’t receive karma; lower an account’s trust score (which limits what it can do, including Super Karma); suspend or terminate accounts; and remove Souls, including on request of the person they are about. Reports are reviewed, and abusing the report function counts as abuse.
Reversed karma still exists in the ledger as a reversal — we do not quietly rewrite history. Where we can, we tell you why. You can ask for a review at karmic@webcastle.in.
07Claims and verification
A claim connects a Soul to your account and keeps all its history. Claims are reviewed and may require verification of your email, phone or other evidence. We may reject, revoke or reassign a claim if it turns out to be false or contested, and we may freeze a Soul while a dispute is investigated. Verified status affects trust but does not make anything said about you true or false.
08No guarantee about reputation
Karma is the aggregate of what other people choose to say. We do not guarantee that a Soul’s score is accurate, complete, fair, stable, or that it will go up, stay up or be visible. We do not guarantee that a note will be removed, that a claim will be approved, that karma will propagate to you, or that any third party will treat your karma as meaningful. Do not make employment, credit, housing or safety decisions on the basis of karma alone.
09Acceptable use of the service
- No scraping, crawling or bulk export of Souls or the ledger beyond what the site offers, and no attempt to re-identify anonymised data.
- No interference with rate limits, security, or the rules engine; no probing, reverse-engineering the AI prompts, or submitting text designed to manipulate the interpretation.
- No use of Karmic to build a competing reputation database.
- Contact import and invites are for people you actually know. Do not import purchased lists or invite strangers.
10AI features
Natural-language karma, profile extraction and abuse detection use third-party AI models. They can misread you. Everything the AI proposes is checked by our rules and, for your profile, confirmed by you before it is published; but you remain responsible for what you submit and confirm. AI features may be limited, metered or withdrawn.
11Limitation of liability
Karmic is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. To the same extent, WebCastle and its people are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, reputation, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to the service or anything users post on it — even if we were told it could happen.
Our total liability for all claims related to Karmic is limited to the greater of ₹1,000 and the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently nothing — Karmic is free). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
You agree to indemnify WebCastle against claims by third parties arising from a note or content you posted, a claim you made, or your breach of these Terms.
12Termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting removes your public Soul and anonymises your profile; the karma ledger keeps anonymised events (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your account for breaching these Terms, for legal reasons, or if we discontinue Karmic, and we may keep records needed to enforce these Terms or comply with law. Sections 5, 8, 11, 13 and 14 survive termination.
13Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules where you live, disputes will be brought exclusively in the courts at Kochi, Kerala, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to karmic@webcastle.in; most problems are fixable in a few emails.
14Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and the date at the top will change. If you keep using Karmic after that, the new Terms apply; if you don’t agree, delete your account before then.

Karmic is a place where people record what happened — good and bad — about people and things, in public, with their name attached. These Terms exist to keep that honest. They are short on purpose. Read them together with the Privacy Policy.
In short
- 18+, one account per person, claim only your own Soul.
- Give karma for things that happened. Specific, fair, no private details.
- No harassment, defamation, spam, or karma rings.
- Bad karma notes are public with your name — you are responsible for them.
- We can reverse karma, freeze Souls and suspend accounts. Reversals stay on the record.
- Karma is other people’s opinion. We don’t guarantee it, and neither should you.
- Liability is limited to the extent the law allows.
- Indian law; courts in Kochi, Kerala.
